How to pay
You can pay for your accommodation in instalments via Direct Debit or in full.
Paying in instalments
The easiest way to pay your fees is to set up a Direct Debit through the My Profile section of your My Manchester account. You just need to add the details of your UK bank account and then the correct amount will be paid automatically at the due date. The payment dates for 2025/26 are:
- 28 October 2025
- 21 January 2026
- 30 April 2026
If you set up a Direct Debit the payment will be processed automatically so you do not need to make any other payments for your accommodation fees. You must have a UK based bank account if you intend to pay by Direct Debit.
If you choose not to pay by Direct Debit you can still pay in instalments, but you will need to complete the payment yourself before the due dates. You can pay by card or bank transfer through your My Manchester account.
The £400 Advanced Licence Fee you paid at the time of acceptance of the agreement will automatically be deducted from your first instalmentally be taken off your first instalment.
Paying in full
If you prefer to pay the whole accommodation fee up front, you can make a payment now by card or bank transfer.
What extras do I have to pay for?
You won't need to find extra money for your utility bills, they're included in your hall fees (see payment plans below for your individual hall fees). If you live in self-catered accommodation and you would like to eat in catered halls then you can either 'pay as you go' or 'pay termly' or for a 'full year'.
What else can you tell me about accommodation fees?
Each year we assess the local market to ensure we are providing a range of affordable housing options for our students. In addition to not having utility bills (see above), we can say that, unlike accommodation in the private sector, we are able to offer shorter contract lengths than 52 weeks. Any student experiencing financial hardship can apply for our Cost of Living Support Fund, an institutional means-tested non-repayable bursary.
What do I do if I have question about my payment?
You can see your outstanding fees, due dates and payment options through your My Manchester account. Accommodation fees will normally be visible from October each year.

Price comparison data
The below links provide PDFs which list Postgraduate (PG) and Undergraduate (UG) halls in alphabetical order showing:
- the types of rooms on offer
- the length of the licence agreement (typically 40, 41, 42, 50 or 51 weeks)
- the total cost for 2025/26
While the prices are fixed for 2025/26, we may need to change the use of particular halls, for example changing one from PG to UG, or other changes as required.
